1st Annual G.I. Film Festival held in D.C.
Here is some cool news I picked up from this evening's local newscast.
A group of U.S. soldiers decided to do something about what they perceive as the "unrealistic and negative" portrayal of the U.S. military in most of the movies coming out of Hollywood. So they started the annual "G.I. Film Festival", held in Washington D.C. over the Memorial Day weekend.
The film festival is open to any filmmaker who is interested in creating films that "celebrate the sacrifices and successes of the American military through the medium of film." The group's advisory committee includes screenwriter's Craig Titley, John Milius, film director's John Dahl, Ron Maxwell, and actor's Ernest Borgnine and Chuck Norris.
